Information and discussions about donating extra garden produce through our partnership with Fresh Food Connect.
Donate Your Extra Garden Produce
Gardens often produce more than we can use, and sharing that abundance is a powerful way to support our community.
Through our partnership with Fresh Food Connect, gardeners can easily donate extra fruits and vegetables from their gardens to help fight food insecurity in our region.
Fresh Food Connect connects home gardeners with local hunger relief organizations, making it simple to ensure extra produce reaches people who need it.
How the Program Works
If your garden produces more than you can use, you can donate that produce through Fresh Food Connect.
The process is simple:
-
Harvest the produce you would like to donate
-
Use the Fresh Food Connect platform to schedule a pickup or drop-off
-
Your produce is delivered to a local hunger relief organization
Fresh, locally grown produce can make a meaningful difference for families in our community.
What Can Be Donated
Gardeners can donate a wide variety of fresh produce, including:
• Tomatoes
• Peppers
• Cucumbers
• Zucchini and squash
• Greens and herbs
• Beans and other vegetables
Produce should be fresh, clean, and suitable for eating.
